Who we are... What we do...

Entry photo example

Sargent Metalworks is a small restoration shop located in Fairlee, VT in the Upper Connecticut River Valley.

We specialize in the restoration and preservation of antique automobiles. Although we work on domestic cars, we specialize in prewar French automobiles, specifically the Bugatti marque.

From full-on restorations taking up to two years to simple problem-solving or maintenance issues, Sargent Metalworks stands by to help in any way it can.

The shop is equipped with a box brake, shear, bandsaw, English wheel, and plantishing hammer, as well as many hand tools and forming heads for sheet metal fabrication projects.

The machine shop is equipped with a lathe and milling machine, tig welder and press, as well as tools to complement its needs for measuring and accurately machining needed bits.

Prep and painting are done offsite, either at Shop North in Fairlee or subbed out to Royal Coachworks in South Burlington, VT. Upholstery needs have been met for the past 16 years by Richmond Upholstery in Richmond, VT.

Since winning Best of Show at Pebble Beach in 2003, we have been back to show other Bugattis every year other than 2004. Of these, three years have been successful, earning two additional Best of Class awards and earning a shot at Best in Show.
